Dual actives make EQUENTO® Extreme the leading canola seed treatment choice

With orders open for 2025 canola seed, it’s worth growers and advisors taking a moment to consider new EQUENTO® Extreme seed treatment for above and below ground protection from chewing and sucking pests.

Early adopters have already begun seeing the advantages of EQUENTO® Extreme this season, ahead of wider distribution in 2025 What makes it more enticing is the inclusion of more pests on the product label.

What is it?
EQUENTO® Extreme is a combination of proven Thiamethoxam (Group 4A), the active ingredient in CRUISER® 600FS, alongside Syngenta’s newest global insecticide innovation, PLINAZOLIN® Technology (IRAC Group 30). Together these products, marketed as EQUENTO® Extreme, offer the widest spectrum of protection available against key canola pests.

Label extension
In recent weeks you may have heard about EQUENTO® Extreme having activity on millipedes and slaters. As a result of our continued investment in our portfolio, we have succeeded in obtaining registration to have these pests added to the CRUISER® 600FS and EQUENTO® labels. Further, the label extensions now offer protection from bronze field beetle, vegetable beetle, vegetable weevil and spotted vegetable weevil, as well as control of blue oat mite.

Offering enhanced synergistic activity on a range of pests, EQUENTO® Extreme notably offers 3-5 weeks of protection against red legged earth mite (RLEM), while helping to manage insecticide resistance to synthetic pyrethroids (Group 3A) and organophosphates (Group 1B) chemistry.

How is it on RLEM?

As demonstrated in numerous trials and the above timelapse video, EQUENTO® Extreme seed treatment provides protection against RLEM, equivalent to Poncho* Plus. The key points for grower consideration is EQUENTO® Extreme’s novel mode of action for resistance management, activity on slaters and millipedes (see main photo above) and shorter grazing withholding compared to canola treated with Poncho* Plus.
EQUENTO® Extreme has excellent compatibility with other seed treatments for enhanced sowing flexibility.

Notably, it’s also highly compatible with the market standard for seedling blackleg control, SALTRO® Duo – the ultimate combination providing comprehensive control of seedling blackleg, rhizoctonia and pythium in canola.

EQUENTO® Extreme and SALTRO® Duo are available ready-applied to seed from your preferred certified seed providers for 2025.
