Fertiliser companies ready to supply UNIFORM treated fertiliser
The introduction of UNIFORM provides an important step change in the control of various cereal diseases in Australia, including Rhizoctonia.
Rhizoctonia ranks as the most important fungal root disease in southern and western regions of the cereal belt. Rhizoctonia is associated with losses of 5 to 20 per cent, and in individual paddocks can be as high as 50 per cent. Trials across three years and twelve sites have demonstrated positive economic results by applying UNIFORM to Rhizoctonia affected paddocks (McKay et al 2014, Huberli et al 2015).
UNIFORM is a new in-furrow fungicide from Syngenta that provides the only fungicidal control of Rhizoctonia in Australian wheat & barley crops. UNIFORM reduces the incidence and size of Rhizoctonia bare patches as well as controlling the chronic affects that occur between patches across the paddock. These yield robbing chronic effects can account for up to 20 percent of yield loss (Rovira 2006).
- Controls Rhizoctonia and Pythium
- Controls Stripe Rust
- Yellow Leaf Spot suppression
- Excellent return on investment through improved yield in affected paddocks
UNIFORM is applied in-furrow on granular fertiliser or in liquid (water or fertiliser). In Rhizoctonia affected paddocks, applying UNIFORM promotes a healthier root system enabling the plant to extract more nutrients and water.
Syngenta, and key fertiliser companies around Australia, have been actively collaborating over the past six months to establish a reliable fertiliser application platform to enable delivery of UNIFORM-treated fertiliser products to growers.
Thanks to the support of the following fertiliser companies, UNIFORM-treated fertiliser products will be available in 2016 from the following locations:
