Syngenta recently held a competition in Western Australia, whereby a lucky grape grower could win an iPad Air after purchasing any two of Syngenta’s proven fungicide performers, Switch®, Revus® and/or ThiovitJet®.

Congratulation to the lucky winner, Alex Taylor from Poacher’s Ridge Winery in Mount Barker, Western Australia who purchased Switch and ThiovitJet from his local store, Landmark Mount Barker.

Alex and his family have been farming their 7.5 hectare Mount Barker property since the year 2000. It is a family-owned craft winery nestled in the hills of the Great Southern town of Narrikup, just south of Mount Barker. They have been growing Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Marsanne and Viognier varieties aimed at a small gourmet market, as well as for export. They also supply other local high quality wineries.

On top of this, Poacher’s Ridge was recently named as the 2016 Best Small Cellar Door in the Great Southern and already rated a 5 red star winery by James Halliday. They are certainly becoming a national favorite.

“We use Switch and ThiovitJet on all our varieties, every year,” Alex said.

“They are best in class. We use them exclusively because they work.”

The local agronomist from Landmark Albany, Steve Poole, awarded Alex his prize.

“At the time of winning the competition, they were doing it tough, with the vineyards decimated by birds and subsequent disease.  So it was a real lift for Alex and his wife to receive some recognition for supporting Syngenta products over the years,” Steve said.
