David Cameron is an agronomist for Farmanco in Moora, servicing clients in the central midlands area of Western Australia. David is passionate about driving productivity growth for his client base, and is quick to adopt new technology and use patterns, which earned him a nomination in the Productivity category.
David assists in managing independent R&D sites to evaluate management techniques, believing that the small gains that can be achieved from subtle changes in grower’s management practices can result in long terms productivity benefits.
In the past David has sat on herbicide resistance panels and grower group R&D committees, however, these days he remains a regular and trusted contact for GIWA, the GRDC and DAFWA industry bodies when looking for ideas for extension projects.
Over the past three years David has begun a new venture, involving advising a community farming business in Cambodia, assisting them with variety and other management decisions to get their farming enterprise off the ground and also to increase their productivity to provide a better quality of life for local families. In the near future he hopes to add another farm business to this portfolio.
