Colin Arnold operates a mixed enterprise of both dryland and irrigation and livestock operations consisting of approximately 8,000 ha at Berrigan. Colin has been nominated in the Productivity category for his heavy involvement in trial development and production efficiencies.
Colin is one of three brothers operating the family business, employing two permanent and up to four temporary staff in busy times. He has a commercial background as an accountant but returned home to the family business 15 year ago.
The G Arnold & Sons Farming business ensures they are always abreast of the latest and greatest agronomic knowledge in the region via their local reseller, IKC. Colin has a specific interest in both end point marketing and identifying production efficiencies at all production levels with a clear focus on maintaining a sustainable return on investment for all family members involved with the operation.
Colin’s passion is to ensure the farming business is healthy and sustainable enough to ensure the option is available to pass it on to future generations within the family. Colin, and his family, are seen as innovators and leaders in primary production in the local area.
