ANDREW PURSEHOUSE

Grower, Breeza, NSW
GROWTH AWARDS 2014 WINNER: SUSTAINABILITY

Andrew has had a lifetime involvement in, and love of, agriculture. A fascination in everything agricultural led to an education at Farrer Agricultural High School and Charles Sturt University (Wagga Agricultural College). Working on properties near Wagga and the Darling Downs cemented this love. Growing up with and being involved in a family rural supply business led to a thirst to be involved in actual farm production. For the last 30 years Andrew has been working on and developing the family property, “Breeza Station”.

The farm and the management team have received many accolades for their achievements. The most significant of these have been the Australian Cotton Grower of the Year award in 2009 and the local prestigious Brownhill Cup in 2000. The farm is run as a team effort by a permanent staff of six. They are a very capable, loyal, and dedicated crew.

“It is important to protect this wonderful farm asset. The operation has to be sustainable and profitable. Sustainability comes easy if you are passionate about the future of the land.”
